Tonight’s nine-game slate is kind of an odd one. All of the pitching options seem to have boom and bust potential. So I am creating my DraftKings lineups backwards tonight, where I select my hitters first and then fill in whichever pitchers fit for my Cash game lineup and selecting my pitchers first and then filling in my hitters for my GPP lineup. We’ll see how it goes. Oh and Stephen is terrible at building FantasyDraft lineups, he will likely never cash again (hopefully that is enough to reverse jinx him).
Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:
- We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
- For Cash games, we will build the core of our lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in and will be allowed to choose 1 player that is not on the Consensus list that we consider to be a good play.
- For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
- We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.
As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.
Entrant – Matt – FanDuel
Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – King Felix has begun to round back into form. I paid up a bit for the pitching position which leaves my lineup in a bit of a bind. Here’s to hoping some of these lower priced options can come through. My only off the board play is Cecilliani.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – I kind of have a crush on Brandon Finnegan when it comes to fantasy baseball. That sometimes bites me in the behind. Let’s hope that tonight is not one of those nights. The Miami lineup lost a lot of punch when Giancarlo was placed on the DL. As for the lineup, let’s hope there are a lot of runs scored in Texas tonight. I’m going all in on Rangers and A’s. My off the board plays were Finnegan and Myers.
Entrant – Brad- DraftKings
Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – As I said in the intro, I built this lineup backwards from my typical process by selecting all of the hitters I wanted and then grabbing the two best pitchers that fit the money I had left. I like the way the lineup turned out even the pitchers who I think can post solid numbers tonight.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – For my GPP lineup, I wanted Scherzer and Smyly who both have big strikeout upside. I then went with a stack of A’s from the Consensus list and rounded out my hitting with Martinez, a mini two-man stack of off the board Yankees’ hitters (Sanchez/Judge), and a cheap Harrison at 2B.
Entrant – Stephen- FantasyDraft
Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – Hopefully weather will hold off in Arlington tonight, but this lineup probably plays more like a tournament than a cash game (but I always enter these in a tournament anyway and I need a break in my losing streak, which has been going on since Brad jinxed me (it’s ok, not your fault).
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – Kinsler, Judge and Ceciliani are off-the-board plays there, but the weather may not be great in Detroit. If not, I’ll switch to Rangers A’s, but I love the Tigers tonight.
