Tonight should be fun. There are so many solid pitching options that are all about the same price on the slate tonight, so I don’t think ownership will be too high on any of them especially in GPPs, so pick your favorites and run with them. Give our FanDuel, DraftKings and FantasyDraft lineups a look for tonight and use them, tweak them or fade them.

Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:

  1. We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
  2. For Cash games, we will build the core of our lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in and will be allowed to choose 1 player that is not on the Consensus list that we consider to be a good play.
  3. For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
  4. We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.

As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.

Cash Game Lineup

Cash

Cash Narrative – McCullers is my top pitcher tonight so my Cash game lineup starts with him. On the hitting side, I wanted to get some exposure to the Astros, so I grabbed both Altuve and Correa. After that, I was just looking for the best value options from the Consensus list. Carrera is an injury fill-in for Jose Bautista and I needed to go off the board for one outfielder to make the lineup work so I’m going to roll the dice with Stanton (also consider Nomar Mazara at the same price if you don’t want the high risk/reward that Stanton brings)

GPP Lineup

 GPP

GPP Narrative – I know there are a ton of pitching options tonight but I am still surprised that more experts didn’t pick Robbie Ray with his huge strikeout upside as a favorite against the Phillies. Well, I did and I am going with him as an off the board pitcher option. Using a full Mets stack including three Consensus plays (Granderson, Walker, Conforto) and adding in Cespedes as an off the board play to round it out. Then picked up a couple of “suited connectors” with the Red Sox (Ortiz/Bogaerts) and Tigers (Martinez and off the board play of Castellanos).

Cash Game Lineup

Cash Narrative – Two solid pitching options. Off the board with Calhoun.

GPP Lineup

GPP Narrative – I actually went off the board at pitcher with Bauer. I like the upside with him tonight. Stacks of Astros and Diamondbacks. Let’s get back in the money!

Cash Game Lineup

6-17-16

Cash Narrative – I tried to balance things out between all the truffle butters that are taking the mound tonight. I know truffle butter means something else, but for here, it means gas can. Carrera is taking Bautista’s place in the Expert Consensus. He’s pricey, but Mike Wright sucks. Shoe and Tanaka are my cash game pitchers. I think there is so much value at pitcher tonight that winning money will come down to the bats in cash games. I also am not using Matt Harvey here because he’s the most expensive pitcher on the board and the Braves doesn’t strike out as much as I would like at that price.

GPP Lineup

 6-17-16 GPP

GPP Narrative – First base has a lot of pristine matchups, so I went with 3 of them – Goldy, E5 and Crush. Correa makes this lineup against along with Nelly Cruz. As I am typing this, I just realize this lineup has 3 off-the-board plays, sue me I guess? Giancarlo Stanton’s price is insanely cheap, so while Jon Gray is a tough matchup, I actually think there’s a high ceiling for Stanton at that price. Jace Peterson, well, I don’t know about him, he’s hot and hitting fifth. I guess you could say he’s my Joker to hopefully take down the Dark Knight?
