My DraftKings Cash game lineups have been struggling so far this season as I can’t seem to find the right way to use the Consensus list yet. Last night I made the mistake of actually going against the experts too often such as rostering Brandon Belt over David Ortiz even though Ortiz was recommended more often. So tonight I am going to focus on the getting the highly touted bats in my Cash game lineup so I don’t try to overthink it.

Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:

  1. We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
  2. For Cash games, we will build our entire lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in.
  3. For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
  4. We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.

As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.

Cash Narrative – Wanted to play Carrasco tonight in cash and GPP but couldn’t do it in either due to salary. Putting together a lineup using only Consensus plays tonight was tough. Hopefully, it fares better than my 99th place finish in a 100-man 50/50 from last night.

GPP Narrative – Off the board plays with Diaz, who has been raking, and Suzuki, who I think could have a nice night against a lefty.

Cash Narrative – With Strasburg scratched for tonight, I am going to pay down for pitching to open up my salary for some bats that were highly touted by the expert consensus tonight including all of the 7x hitters (Arenado, Seager, Harper).

GPP Narrative – Going to fade Coors Field again tonight in my GPP lineup. Going with a three different small stacks (Suited Connectors) tonight using the Dodgers, Twins and Cubs along with Castillo at catcher. On the pitching side, Eickhoff is someone I recommended tonight and is a good GPP option and paired him with Drew Smyly as my only off the board play tonight. I expect Smyly to be fairly low-owned pitching against Carrasco.
