Here is the Industry Expert Consensus picks for tonight’s seven-game slate where we have gather selections from 13 different experts. Thanks to a good suggestion from our own Stephen Monahan, we will be adding a “Top Stacks” section to the bottom of the Consensus articles going forward that list out the teams with the most hitters being recommended by the experts for each given slate.
Be sure to check each team’s lineup when it is released and watch the weather especially in Cincy tonight for the Phillies/Reds game.
SP
- Stephen Strasburg (10x) – Biggest Vegas favorite facing a Braves team that had the 4th worst wOBA against righties last season
- Kenta Maeda (8x) – Making big league debut in pitcher-friendly ballpark against a Padres team that hasn’t scored yet this season and K’d 23.4% of the time against righties last season
- Michael Pineda (5x) – Somewhat risky against a good Astros lineup but he should be able to rack up some K’s
- Sonny Gray (4x) – Solid, consistent pitcher who only allowed more than 4 runs in 5 times in 31 starts last season
C
- Brian McCann (4x) – Hit half of his 26 home runs last season at home against righties

1B
- Adrian Gonzalez (6x) – Had a .230 ISO and .360 wOBA against righties last year
- Chris Davis (1B/OF) (5x) – Wind blowing out in Baltimore tonight, not that Davis needs it to hit one out of the park
- Freddie Freeman (3x) – If you like BvP, he has gone 12-for-28 with 3 HRs against Stephen Strasburg in his career
2B
- Daniel Murphy (2B/3B) (5x) – Homered in his National debut on Monday
- Brian Dozier (4x) – Hit 21 out of his 28 home runs against righties last year
SS
- Corey Seager (SS/3B) (5x) – Faces Andrew Cashner who gave up a .383 wOBA to lefties last year
- Carlos Correa (3x) – High price tag but one of the few SS with 2 HR potential any given night
- Zack Cozart (3x) – Hit leadoff on Monday and is cheap, watch the weather before putting him in your lineup
3B
- Manny Machado (4x) – Batting leadoff in the highest Vegas total of the night
- Miguel Sano (4x) – Wind blowing out in Baltimore tonight, not that Sano needs it to take one deep against Yovani Gallardo
- Matt Carpenter (3x) – Had a .249 ISO and .394 wOBA versus righties last season
OF
- Bryce Harper (8x) – Homered on opening day and get to face Bud Norris tonight who has given up 1.31 HR/9 to lefties in his career
- Adam Jones (3x) – Has reverse splits where he is better against righties than lefties, facing a righty tonight
- Jay Bruce (3x) – Always a home run threat against righties, watch the weather before putting him in your lineup
