Through the first month of the MLB season, my hitter stack recommendations are leading all MLB industry experts in the Overall Standings. Last night wasn’t the best night with the Cubs only scoring two runs but at least a few of my Astros and Pirates hitters put up some points. Hopefully, you also had some exposure to the Phillies who are another stack I softly recommended.

Tuesday night has a full 15-game slate of games that should be very interesting to attack. Chris Sale comes in as the top high-priced pitcher but there are a lot of other solid pitchers on the slate to consider. The hitting side also brings a variety of stackable options.

Let’s mow down the competition 3 Up and 3 Down…

3 Up

Ace

Chris Sale (FD-$11,700 / DK-$12,500)
Even with other good pitching options on the slate, it will be hard to “Sale” away from Chris after the start he has had to the season with a 1.19 ERA and double-digit strikeouts in four straight games. The winds might be blowing out in Fenway tonight but the Orioles will have to actual hit the ball to take advantage, something they don’t do too often against lefties this season with a 26.2% strikeout rate. If Sale puts up 15 Ks you better have exposure to him.

Value

Carlos Martinez (FD-$9,100 / DK-$8,900)
If there is one cheaper pitching option that I may be willing to go with in Cash games over Sale, it would be Martinez. He is a home favorite pitching against a Brewers’ offense which has the second-highest strikeout rate (25.9%) against righties this season. They also get a negative park adjustment going to St. Louis and there will be a pitcher-friendly umpire behind the plate. Martinez is a great #2 pitching option on two-pitcher sites and could be considered for both Cash and GPP lineups on any site. Runner-up in this spot is James Paxton.

Darkhorse

Trevor Cahill (FD-$6,900 / DK-$5,000)
How can Cahill’s price still be just $5,000 on DraftKings? He has shown some flashes of being a good pitcher during his career and pitched very well in relief for the Cubs last season. This year in a move back into the starting rotation in pitcher-friendly San Diego, Cahill has been much better than his 4.50 ERA would lead you to believe. He has a 2.97 xFIP with a 29.1% strikeout rate. He will face the Rockies outside of Coors Field where they have the 4th highest strikeout rate (26%) and rank in the bottom eight in wOBA and wRC+ this season. He could be an option in Cash for two-pitcher sites but is best used as a GPP option.

3 Down

Top Stacks

Nationals vs. Taijuan Walker
Walker pitched great in his last game with 11 strikeouts over eight innings against the Padres. But that was the Padres, he will get a much better hitting team in the Nationals on the road on Tuesday. Walker has allowed 1.33 HR/9 over his career and 34.9% hard contact this season. Look for the Nationals’ lefty hitters to take advantage with the wind blowing out to right field.

Bryce Harper (FD-$5,200 / DK-$5,300) – Harper has a career .399 wOBA and .254 ISO at home against righties in his career.
Trea Turner (FD-$4,300 / DK-$4,700) – Turner has been on fire since returning from injury hitting .386 with two homers, 12 RBI, 15 runs and a steal over his last nine games.
Daniel Murphy (FD-$4,300 / DK-$4,500) – Murphy has five multiple-hit games over his last six starts and is batting .352 against righties so far this season.
Matt Wieters (FD-$3,100 / DK-$3,200) – Wieters hit two home runs on Sunday and is 4-of-6 with a homer and a double off Walker.

Yankees vs. Mat Latos
Latos has a decent 3.27 ERA through his first two starts of the season but it is masking a 6.69 xFIP and .235 BABIP. Latos also allows a lot of contact, when he isn’t walking batters, so there should be plenty of Yankees circling the bases on Tuesday.

Aaron Judge (FD-$4,100 / DK-$4,000) – Judge has started the season on fire with 10 homers in his first 23 games including seven of his 10 homers coming off righties.
Starlin Castro (FD-$3,500 / DK-$3,600) – Castro is riding a five-game hitting streak and has hit all five of his home runs this season off righties with a .422 wOBA.
Didi Gregorius (FD-$3,300 / DK-$3,600) – Gregorius has been hot since returning from injury with three multi-hit games in his first four starts. He had a .231 ISO at home against righties last season taking advantage of the short porch in right.
Jacoby Ellsbury (FD-$3,000 / DK-$3,800) – Ellsbury is not the player he once was but he did have a solid .335 wOBA and .144 ISO at home versus righties last season.

Contrarian Stack

Cardinals vs. Wily Peralta
Peralta has given up six home runs over his last three starts including one against the Cardinals when he pitched just four innings while allowing six runs. Left-handed hitters had a .374 wOBA against him last season, while he gave up 1.38 HR/9 to righties. With so many good stack options, the Cardinals will likely be low owned.

Jedd Gyorko (FD-$3,000 / DK-$3,700) – Gyorko is mashing the ball right now going 8-for-18 with three homers over his last three games including two long balls against the Brewers last night. He is also 5-for-12 with a homer off Peralta in his career.
Matt Carpenter (FD-$3,800 / DK-$4,200) – Carpenter has crushed Peralta over his career going 20-for-43 with six doubles and three homers.
Dexter Fowler (FD-$3,300 / DK-$4,400) – Despite going hitless yesterday, Fowler still hit the ball hard 50% of the time. He just ended a stretch with five straight games with multiple hits and had a .363 wOBA against righties last season.
Aledmys Diaz (FD-$2,900 / DK-$4,100) – Diaz picked up a couple of hits including a home run last night against the Brewers and has a career .371 wOBA against righties.
