Well, I got the consistent production I was looking for from all of my pitching recommendations last night with all four picks scoring at least 22 fantasy points on DraftKings. Today I will be focusing on the eight-game night slate of MLB action where we find that there are no aces to pay up for tonight. So, with no aces on the hill, I will skip the Ace pitcher recommendation and just give three pitching options tonight.
Value
Junior Guerra (FD-$7,200 / DK-$7,400)
Guerra comes in as my top rated pitcher on the night slate. He is coming off a great performance against the Cubs in his last start with 11 strikeouts over seven innings while allowing just three runs. Tonight he goes from facing one of the best offenses to one of the worst in the Braves. The Braves continue to be in the bottom five in ISO, wOBA and wRC+ against righties this season. Guerra is a good Cash and GPP option tonight.
Hisashi Iwakuma (FD-$8,600 / DK-$7,500)
There is nothing special about Iwakuma’s fantasy production, he won’t register double-digit strikeouts or throw complete-game shutouts but he will produce solid outings that will keep the Mariners in games giving him a chance for wins. Tonight Iwakuma should have an excellent chance for a win as one of the biggest favorites pitching at home against a rookie pitcher making his first big league start for the Athletics. Exposure to Iwakuma should be limited to Cash games due to his limited strikeout upside.
Darkhorse
Mike Foltynewicz (FD-$6,300 / DK-$6,400)
Following the same metrics that made Julio Teheran a good play last night to recommend Foltynewicz tonight against a Brewers’ team that Teheran recorded 12 strikeouts against on Tuesday. Foltynewicz had produced two good starts in a row before getting lit up in his last start against the Pirates. Look for Foltynewicz to rebound with a good start tonight with the opportunity to produce double-digit strikeouts with his mid-90s fastball against the Brewers who have struck out 27.6% of the time against righties this season. Foltynewicz makes for an excellent GPP option tonight.
