With just a four-game MLB DFS slate on Thursday night, I’d recommend that you do not use full team stacks but instead just find the top players at each position. So, instead of listing out stacks I will just list out some of my top hitters that I will be trying to work into my lineups in Cash and GPPs. Another free “On the Hill” for the small evening slate. Enjoy!

Let’s mow down the competition 3 Up and 3 Down…

3 Up

Ace

Chris Sale (FD-$11,400 / DK-$13,000)
Sale’s fastball velocity was trending downward prior to his last start where it spiked back up to its usual level. It’s something to keep an eye on over his next few starts. Regardless of his velocity his results have been hard to question with at least eight strikeouts in four out of five starts while allowing one run or less also in four out of five starts. He is a big road favorite against the Blue Jays who rank in the bottom third of the league in wOBA and wRC+ against lefties this season. Lock him in for Cash games and also consider him in GPPs.

Value

Kyle Hendricks (FD-$6,800 / DK-$6,900)
If you’re paying up for Sale then you’ll need some value with your second pitcher on DK. Hendricks provides that value as a home favorite against the Brewers. It is a little scary to roster a pitcher against the red-hot Brewers right now but Hendricks has had success against Brewers’ hitters in his career, allowing just a .267 wOBA with a solid 20.4% strikeout rate. Hendricks has also fared much better at home over his career with a 2.49 ERA.

Darkhorse

Chris Archer (FD-$8,300 / DK-$8,800)
I expect Archer’s counterpart, Dylan Bundy, to be more popular so I’ll pivot to Archer in GPPs against an Orioles’ offense that has struggled against righties so far this season. They have the 3rd highest strikeout rate (26.7%) and rank in the bottom two in wOBA (.268) and wRC+ (65). While Archer has not been great this season (6.59 ERA), his peripheral numbers suggest he has been a little unlucky with a high BABIP (.333) and low strand rate (58.8%) which leads to a decent 3.80 xFIP.

3 Down
