I’m ready for a fresh start this week after more “downs” than “ups” so far with my DraftKings lineups using the Consensus list. Some nights it is difficult to put together a lineup using just the consensus picks but there was a wide range of options tonight with a short seven-game slate including seven pitchers to choose from.
Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:
- We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
- For Cash games, we will build our entire lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in.
- For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
- We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.

Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – In order to make salary work and keep Rodon as my P, I had to play Nunez at SS. Nunez has been red-hot so that could play in my favor, I suppose. There are weather concerns in Minny so that could force a last-minute pivot for 3 guys…which should get interesting.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – A bit of a different approach on the GPP tonight. Typically, I like to play a couple of stacks. I’m only going one stack and going off the board twice (Moss, Hazelbaker) to make it. Maybe not the wisest of strategies to stray away from the norm but I could use a spark to get the GPP format rolling.

Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – It was literally impossible to use Syndergaard in my cash game lineup, so I opted for the next best thing: Jose Fernandez. Twins and Reds should be popular tonight considering their opposing pitcher. I think the Twins are coming out of a funk and are an excellent play. It appears everyone is aware of Joey Votto’s BvP against Jordan Lyles. I have faded Harper, CarGo, Trout and Stanton in both lineups, so it might be difficult to cash tonight without one of them.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – Still no Syndergaard, so I went off the board at pitcher with Phil Hughes, who actually is my favorite pitcher of the night. He should rack of the Ks and I like him for the win. At his price, I can load up on bats and feel safe. Todd Frazier is my other off-the-board play. He’s up against a lefty fly ball pitcher in a hitter’s park. Count me in.

Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – Some nice value hitters (Cozart, Conforto, Peralta) near the top of the Consensus lists tonight still allowed me to fit in Fernandez and Santiago at pitcher.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – I am loading up on the Rockies/Reds game tonight with a double-stack using a few “off the board” plays in Pacheco (batting second) and Phillips to round out the Reds stack with Paulsen for the Rockies stack. Went with the same pitchers that my Cash lineup has tonight as I think they will both be somewhat contrarian.
