I seriously need to change my process to build DraftKings Cash lineups using the Consensus list after two straight weeks of poor results. I have been just loading up on the top consensus hitters and have still been able to get at least one of the top recommended pitchers most nights. While this seems like a good strategy it hasn’t been working, so starting this week I will try to put more of my own research and thoughts into which of the Consensus plays I use. We’ll see if it helps.

Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:

  1. We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
  2. For Cash games, we will build our entire lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in.
  3. For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
  4. We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.

As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.

Cash Game Lineup

Cash Narrative – Not able to use any of the top pitchers because the salary did not work out. I like the Gomes-Lindor-Davis combo…so much so that they will appear in my GPP lineup too. The Sox offense has struggled this year hence the Stroman play.

GPP Lineup

GPP Narrative – Stack of Indians – adding Kipnis to the above mentioned trio. I’ll use an off the board play for my pitcher slot. Using Garcia allowed to pay up for some bats. Other off the board play is Adam Lind hitting in the middle of that M’s order.

Cash Narrative – I’ll be honest, this would never be a cash game for me. We are sticking with our rules but I would have Bumgarner or Syndergaard here instead of Ian Kennedy, despite how well he has pitched lately and despite that he is facing the worst team against RH pitching in the majors. So, this is what I vomited into my lineup based on pricing/consensus plays.

GPP Lineup

Untitled2

GPP Narrative – I don’t hate Pomeranz, and I tried to fit Maddy B or Syndergaard in, but I couldn’t do it, even with the off-the-board option, so I went the other route, dumped salary for bats. Francouer is in the 5-hole against a guy he has a solid BvP against (since I am the BvP guy here, I’ll stick to my guns). Then Josh Thole is another punt so I can fit in bats. I opted for Miggy because he sat out yesterday because he’s been struggling and I think a depressed price and low ownership are optimal with that pick at 1B. I was still able to fit in Arenado (solid play plus BvP) and Cutch, who has been burning me lately due to his slumping play, but hoping Coors turns that all around. Good luck all!

Cash Game Lineup

DK-Cash-Apr25

Cash Narrative – With Matt Joyce batting second in Coors Field for only $2,100 on DK I swapped him in for McCutchen. These huge savings allowed my to get four hitters from the Pirates/Rockies game in Coors Field and still pay up for a stud pitcher in Syndergaard and one of my favorite value pitchers tonight in Kennedy.

GPP Lineup

DK-GPP-Apr25

GPP Narrative – I really like my GPP lineup tonight. Going with a full Blue Jays stack tonight with the four hitters on the Consensus plus their leadoff hitter tonight, Ezequiel Carrera. I am pairing them with a small Pirates stack hitting in the back half of the lineup playing in Coors Field. On the pitching side, I was still able to get two solid mid-priced options.
