We will be producing sample MLB lineups during the baseball season like we started doing during the NBA season. These lineups will follow a certain set of rules for Cash lineups and GPP lineups. Matt(FanDuel) and Brad(DraftKings) will be the primary creators of the lineups each day with Stephen joining in on occasion. We will track our results and provide a summary each week.
Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:
- We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
- For Cash games, we will build our entire lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in.
- For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
- We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.
As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.

Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – The jury, for me, is still out on stacks in a cash lineup. That being said, it’s tough to overlook the Diamondbacks tonight. Cueto tops the list of pitching options tonight on my board so I’m happy I was able to squeeze him in my lineup.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – I am a fan of the stack in the GPP format though and I think a good chunk of folks would agree. Very similar look to the cash lineup; however, I’ll go off the board for Holliday and Puig which allows me to squeeze in the big-bopper in the Arizona lineup, Goldschmidt. Puig got off to a hot start yesterday and his hits usually come in bunches. From bunches to hunches. I’ll play the Holliday hunch going against the lefty, Niese, in Pittsburgh.
Entrant – Brad- DraftKings
Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – I like to do something I call “Suited Connectors” (to steal a poker term) in my Cash game lineups where I put together 2 or 3 mini-stacks of 2 or 3 players from the same team that are in consecutive or close to consecutive lineup spots. I find it is not as volatile as a full stack but still brings some of the upside of a stack. So tonight I have 3 “Suited Connectors” with Span(1) and Panik(2) for the Giants, Cabrera(3) and Martinez(4) for the Tigers and Segura(1), Peralta(4), Castillo(5) for the Diamondbacks.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – The Consensus plays list from the experts tonight really seems to like the Tigers so I am going to stack them adding Justin Upton as an off the board play. Then with the talk of the wind blowing in from right field in the Mariners/Rangers game, I think that many will be off that game yet the Vegas run total is still at 9 which matches the highest line on the night. So I am going to do a three-man stack of the Mariners including Consensus plays of Marte and Cruz while I add in Cano as an off the board play. Finally rounding out my hitters with Phegley batting seventh and going against a lefty. I have moved off of Cueto on the pitching side as I think he will be highly owned and shifted to Verlander who has some upside and should be a little less owned.
