It should be a fun night tonight with A-Rod priced at $696 on FanDuel. He will be very highly owned on that site, but what will his ownership be on other sites? I guess we’ll find out soon enough and if our lineups are any indication he may be highly owned no matter what site as he is in five out of six of our lineups tonight.

Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:

  1. We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
  2. For Cash games, we will build the core of our lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in and will be allowed to choose 1 player that is not on the Consensus list that we consider to be a good play.
  3. For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
  4. We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.

As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.

Cash Narrative – Two thoughts off the top before I get into my lineups. ARod found his way into both lineups. Sure, he’s dirt cheap thanks to FanDuel but it’s somewhat of a sentimental pick, too. Love him or hate him, steroids or not, we will witness the final game of one of the most talented dudes to ever play the game tonight. Being the baseball-crazed maniac that I’ve been my entire life, that is something very special and should not be overlooked. The second thought – there is a LOT of weather in play tonight. Both of these lineups are subject to some last minute changes based on the weatherman (@KevinRothWx). I love Carrasco regardless of matchup every time he toes the rubber. A bit spread out on the hitter front but a cheap ARod allowed for some serious pop to be inserted.

GPP Narrative – Bundy has finally revealed some of the promise that he had when he was the top pick several years ago. Stacks of Rangers (weather permitting) and Red Sox (also weather permitting) along with ARod.

Cash Game Lineup

Cash

Cash Narrative – Only one off the board hitter tonight using McCann at catcher since the Consensus options were all so expensive. Otherwise, I was able to get a nice mix of hitters hitting near the top of the lineup in good matchups. On the pitching side I paid up for Strasburg and grabbed a cheap Carrasco who might not rack up the strikeout against the Angels but should still put together a solid outing.

GPP Lineup

GPP

GPP Narrative – Going “all-in” on a Yankees A-Rod farewell send off with my GPP lineup and it is not completely a narrative thing, as I actually like some of the Yankees’ bats given their cheap price tags. I am also going with a late night Dodgers stack to round out my hitters. With so many cheap hitters, I was able to grab two high-priced/high upside pitchers with Darvish and Price.

Cash Narrative – Many of my plays above are my BvP plays for tonight as well. I probably am partially to blame for some of our Consensus picks getting 3 votes, so I might as well make good on my end. Anyway, Stras and Gray here for this cash game lineup. Then there’s A-Rod. It sounds like many will be on him, so fading in tournaments might be a good play. Kobe went ham on his last game, but baseball is different that A-Rod is likely to go 0-for-4 (which would be fine by me because I can’t stand the guy and that would be the perfect ending to his career). Tuffy is an off-the-board punt, but weather is of concern in Boston tonight.

GPP Lineup

GPP Narrative – I love the Rangers tonight (which means I’m likely to jinx them either by underperformance or weather postpones the game). I have faded the Red Sox altogether because of the weather and likely won’t have a chance to swap out plays, so I will cross my fingers that the Rangers game gets in and Yu’s start isn’t shortened. Mazara and Mahtook are off-the-board plays. I hate that I don’t have any Astros here and will likely pivot to them should weather scare me off. A-Rod still makes the lineup though (rolls eyes).
