Time for a fresh start with the beginning of a new week. Matt did really well with his FanDuel lineups last week but Stephen and I had a down week and will look to get on track this week. Stephen is also trying something new with his FantasyAces lineup this week, give it look.
Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:
- We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
- For Cash games, we will build the core of our lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in and will be allowed to choose 1 player that is not on the Consensus list that we consider to be a good play.
- For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
- We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.
As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.
Entrant – Matt – FanDuel
Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – Maeda seems like the safest play from a P perspective. I do have some left-coasters in this lineup so there could be potential switch-outs if someone doesn’t crack the starting lineup. My off the board play is Brett Gardner. I like the Yanks tonight even with their struggling lineup.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – Once again, playing a lot of left-coasters but hopefully everyone is in the starting lineup. Two mini-stacks of Dodgers (Grandal, Gonzalez, Seager) and Yanks (Castro, Gardner, Ellsbury) coupled with Donaldson, who is a safe play any night, and Desmond, who has been raking of late. Off the board with the Yanks duo of Gardner and Ellsbury. Sure would like to duplicate last Monday’s success.
Entrant – Brad- DraftKings
Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – Grabbing two of my favorite pitchers of the night for Cash games in Maeda and Conley which still leaves plenty of money for some big bats.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – Going with two high risk/high reward pitching options with Ray and Smyly then playing it safer with my hitters featuring a Dodgers stack including off the board picks of Kendrick and Thompson. Plus getting the middle of the Pirates lineup with McCutchen, Polanco and Freese.
Entrant – Stephen- FantasyAces
Lineup Narrative – My turbulence with FantasyAces has forced my hand a bit, so I am switching my construction up a bit. Instead of two lineups, I am going with a single entry in both a GPP and a cash game. I will treat this via our rules like a cash game, so no off-the-board play. However, I am going to play part of my lineup like a GPP and others like a cash game. Anyway, I am taking two pitchers against hapless bats vs. lefty pitching. Danny Duffy was kind to me yesterday against the Braves, so I hope Jon Niese vs. Williams Perez pays off at a cheap price. I would love to stack against J.A. Happ because I still think he’s awful and needs to get blown up, so I snuck in the likely low-owned Steve Pearce who has some solid BvP numbers (Longo as well). Josh Donaldson has struggled but has good BvP against Drew Smyly, though the BJs have performed less-than-desired against lefties all season long. I wish I could find a way to get Tulo into my lineup as I think he is finally starting to heat up, but I will have exposure to him elsewhere and couldn’t fade Donaldson vs. a lefty at home. Then there was Bautista. Does he have a hangover from getting punched in the face or does he dominate tonight? Your call. Love the Dodgers though and Seager and A-Gon are swinging hot bats. Lastly, can’t ignore the Pirates vs the two-last-name pitcher Williams Perez. I loved Marte, but he is out, so look for David Freese to make an appearance in the clean-up spot today. There are lots of solid options though, so I hope you find yours to cash and hopefully my new thinking will help me as well. Good luck!
