There are a ton of pitching options that I like tonight from high-priced aces to low priced sleepers. However, I wanted to keep my recommendations down to four players so I went with my top four rated pitchers. Other pitchers I would consider tonight especially in GPPs include David Price, Chris Archer, Carlos Rodon, Carlos Carrasco (DK only) and Francisco Liriano.
Ace
Stephen Strasburg (FD-$11,600 / DK-$12,400)
Strasburg comes in with the highest salary tonight but with good reason. He is a huge favorite pitching at home against a Braves’ offense that still ranks in the bottom two in wRC+, wOBA and ISO despite hitting a little better lately. Strasburg offers a high floor and some upside making him a solid Cash game and GPP option.
Value
Yu Darvish (FD-$9,700 / DK-$11,200)
Darvish has pitched progressively better since returning to the mound this season including throwing seven shutout inning with eight strikeouts in his last outing. He will be pitching at home tonight as a big favorite against the Tigers who strikeout 21.6% (11th highest) against righties this season. I prefer Darvish on FanDuel where his salary is almost $2,000 lower than Strasburg as a Cash game play and is worth GPP consideration.
Jon Gray (FD-$8,300 / DK-$8,900)
Gray was roughed up in his last start allowing eight runs in 3+ innings in Coors Field. He will have a good opportunity to bounce back tonight pitching on the road against a Phillies’ offense which ranks in the bottom three in wOBA and wRC+ against righties this season. Gray is worth Cash game consideration on two-pitcher sites and as a GPP play.
Darkhorse
Dylan Bundy (FD-$7,400 / DK-$7,400)
Bundy has pitched well over his last four starts with a 1.90 ERA and 11.03 K/9. He gets a favorable park adjustment pitching in San Francisco tonight and will not have to face a DH. Bundy also comes in as a small road favorite opposed by Matt Cain. Bundy might not have high strikeout upside but should be able to put together another solid outing. He is a potential Cash game option on two-pitcher sites and worth a GPP flier.
