This one is hard to write at 11 p.m. central time.

My beloved Red Raiders lost a grueling, tough fight against Virginia in the national title game.

This one stings a lot, but the ride was awesome. I hope it’s the start of something great with Tech men’s basketball and coach Chris Beard.

Long live the Matador, but I must move on.

But because of the emotional roller coaster and the time crunch with work in the morning, I will make this one short and sweet, stick with FanDuel pricing and jump back on the full, new format for Wednesday’s slates.

And boy, do we have some decisions to make on FanDuel….this one is free again, so you’ll see what I mean.

Long live Texas Tech.

PITCHERS

Joey Lucchesi – at San Francisco Giants – $8,600

Analysis: Lauer posted 8 strikeouts in 5 innings last night and gave up a grand slam, 5 earned runs total. Lauer still got there. Lucchesi is a much better pitcher and the Giants are still the paltry offense against lefties that they were before Monday night’s game.

HITTERS

Chris Davis – 1B – Baltimore Orioles – $500

Analysis: Yes, you read that right. Chris Davis is $500 tomorrow on FanDuel. You can use 1% salary on a potential zero and stack the rest of your lineup. Yes, he now has the MLB record with 47 straight at-bats without a hit to start a season. But, he’s going to get a hit, eventually, right? If he’s even in the lineup against Brett Anderson, a lefty, Chris Davis still may be worth a punt in case he gets a pinch-hit opportunity. It’s 1% of your salary….

Chad Pinder – 3B – Oakland Athletics – $2,500

Analysis: I picked the cheapest As of the bunch for today’s write up as Oakland draws rookie lefty John Means, who draws his first major league start at home. Means has been stellar out of the bullpen, but now gets a chance to shine as a starter. But the A’s are a tough out against lefties. Pinder is first up and so far this season alone, Pinder owns a .448 wOBA and .313 ISO against lefties. Pinder is near minimum and is part of a long list of A’s I’d love to stack up today.

Josh Phegley – C – Oakland Athletics – $2,000

Analysis: Don’t know a lot about Means, but Phegley is back to his old lefty mashing ways in 2019 – .430 wOBA, .140 ISO and 42% hard contact rate.

Jurickson Profar – 2B – Oakland Athletics – $2,300

Analysis: He got us there yesterday and maybe that bat is starting to come alive for the young utility man. He’s way underpriced at 2B against a southpaw, who he lit up in 2018 with a .341 wOBA and .180 ISO.

Khris Davis – OF – Oakland Athletics – $4,000

Analysis: Disappointed a lot of people against Andrew Cashner, and while his price is in the $4K range, he’s a guy I want to heavily target against a young lefty making his first career start. Against lefties, Davis owns a .453 wOBA with a .529 ISO and 53% hard contact rate WITH a .100 BABIP!!!.

Franmil Reyes – OF – San Diego Padres – $2,300

Analysis: Reyes has struggled out of the gate and he’s really struggled against lefties – he has no hits. But that just means he’s due right? Even with his low numbers this season, Reyes still owns a .406 wOBA and .231 ISO.

Mike Moustakas – 2B – Mike Moustakas – $3,100

Analysis: Is Matt Harvey good against lefties? No! Is Harvey going up against Milwaukee? Yes. Is Mike Moustakas a Brewer? Yes. Is Moustakas a lefty? Yes. Then you play Moustakas. Harvey against lefties since 2017 – .378 wOBA, 41% hard contact, 5.21 xFIP and 2.26 HR/9.
