NBA – What If – Tuesday (March 20)

This will be the last NBA What If Matrix article for this season. I think it was a good addition to our NBA content over the last few months and one we will consider again for next season. If you have any feedback on the article hit me up on Twitter (@Rotopilot). Tuesday’s six-game slate […]

NBA – Hot Sheet – Tuesday (March 20)

This will be my 89th and final NBA Hot Sheet for the 2017-18 NBA season. NBA – Industry Expert Consensus – March 19th

There are going to be some chalky value plays according to Monday’s Weighted Consensus but picking which high-priced stud SF looks like a toss-up. See which value options are near must-plays and which stud has a slight edge for Monday’s eight-game slate.

Programming Note: This will be the last week we pull the expert’s NBA picks to grade and produce the Weighted Consensus Rankings. We will shift our focus to the MLB starting next week.

The Weighted Consensus for the NBA uses each expert’s current DailyOverlay score to generate a Weighted Consensus ranking. To calculate the Weighted Rank Score, each expert’s DailyOverlay score for players is weighted on a sliding scale from 1 to 5 with the top expert in the current standings being weighted with a five while the last place expert is weighted with a one. This method gives the higher rated experts picks more weight when compiling the overall player rankings for the day. We will include all players that generate a Rank Score of at least 10.0.

NBA – Hot Sheet – Monday (March 19)

We are definitely in the “dog days” of the NBA season with teams in tank mode, fighting for playoff spots and seeding and, of course, plenty of injuries. Monday’s eight-game slate is no different with injuries opening up playing time for a few underpriced players and two high-priced studs squaring off against each other with the Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo taking on the Cavaliers and LeBron James.

Programming Note: I will be on vacation (Vegas, baby!) starting on Wednesday this week, so I will only be writing my NBA Hot Sheet and the What If Matrix articles today and tomorrow (Tuesday). These will also be my last NBA articles of the season as we plan to wrap up all of our NBA coverage at the end of this week so that we can turn our attention to the upcoming MLB season next week.

The grid below is a snapshot of today’s slate that shows the overall rating for each position for each team. The numbers highlighted in red are the positions that are in the top 25% of their position for the slate and indicate good plays. Meanwhile, the numbers highlighted in blue are the positions that are in the bottom 25% of their respective position for the slate and are positions to avoid.

NBA – What If – Friday (March 16)

Just like Wednesday, where we had a smaller NBA slate but a lot of injuries to dissect, Friday’s six-game NBA slate is also full of injuries to keep an eye on with special interest in Golden St. and Oklahoma City. Status of players on those teams will shape lineup construction so find out who is […]

NBA – Hot Sheet – Friday (March 16)

Friday finishes off the week with a solid six-game NBA slate. So, put down your bracket long enough to fire up some NBA DFS lineups then sit back and watch endless hours of hoops.

NBA – What If – Thursday (March 15)

Thursday’s nine-game slate has far less injury news to monitor and react to then Wednesday’s wild four-game slate had. Of course, that could all change this time of year so still be on the lookout for any late scratches. This article will attempt to list all of the relevant injury situations to monitor for the […]

NBA – Hot Sheet – Thursday (March 15)

Why is the NBA scheduling a big nine-game Thursday slate on the opening day of March Madness? We could even see some overlay on DFS sites as people either decide to skip the NBA slate or just forget about it with all the March Madness action. Well if you do play, below are my top […]

NBA – Industry Expert Consensus – March 14th

It is going to be a chalky night in the Association with just four games on the slate and a ton of injuries opening up value options and increasing minutes and usage for the players that are left. We also only have one game with a Vegas total over 210 (Lakers/Warriors) which will be a popular game for DFS players.
